Janice Huff    

Chief Meteorologist at WNBC-New York

Janice Huff is one of New York’s most well known forecasters. She is the chief meteorologist for NBC 4 New York, where she has worked since 1995. She is the weekday weather reporter on NBC 4 New York for the 5p.m., 6p.m. and 11p.m. newscasts.

Huff is a member of the New York State Broadcasters Association’s Hall of Fame and has received many awards and honors for her broadcast talent. She was awarded the Allen B. Dumont Broadcaster of the Year Award from Montclair State University in 2015, McDonald’s “2011 Black Media Legends” award, YWCA of New York City’s 2008 “W” award, the New York Chapter National Black Journalist Association’s “2007 Community Service Award and many more.

Huff is recognized for her work on “Wednesday’s Child” and is a passionate advocate for underprivileged and foster children in her community and around the world. “Wednesday’s Child” is a weekly adoption feature that airs during “News 4 New York at 5.” She received the Administration for Children’s Services’ “Golden Heart Award” in 2004.

Huff was born in Harlem and raised in Columbia, SC. She graduated from Florida State University with a major in meteorology.
