Jared Grusd    

Chief Strategy Officer & Senior Advisor to the CEO at Snap Inc.

Jared Grusd has helped build some of the world's most innovative companies. Grusd serves as senior advisor to the CEO of Snap- the parent company of Snapchat- and served as its chief strategy officer, leading the corporate strategy, corporate development, business development, international markets, and content functions.

Previously, Grusd was the global head of news and information at Verizon Media. There, he was the chief executive officer of Huffpost and led the Yahoo and AOL homepages, Yahoo News, and AOL's portfolio of internet brands. Before that, Grusd was general counsel and global head of corporate development of Spotify. He also had successful tenures as the chief strategy and business development officer of AOL and as a senior executive of Google. In addition, Grusd co-founded Shake, a venture-backed legal technology company that sold to Legal Shield. He also served on the board of directors of Newsela and SoulCycle.

Grusd is an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School and a lecturer in law at the University of Chicago Law School. His classes consistently rank amongst the popular at each school. He is also a member of the Advisory Council at the University of Chicago Law School.

Grusd earned numerous industry accolades. Business Insider named Grusd three times as one of the hundred coolest and most influential people in the New York technology ecosystem. In addition, Fortune recognized Grusd as one of the five most powerful technology lawyers. He received an MBA from Columbia Business School, a JD, with Honors, from the University of Chicago Law School, and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
