Jasmin Paris

Veterinarian & Ultra-Runner; First Woman to Finish the Barkley Marathons; Co-founder of The Green Runners & Ambassador for Into Ultra

Jasmin Paris MBE is a British ultra-runner and veterinarian. In 2024, Paris made history by becoming the first woman to finish the Barkley Marathons, widely known as one of the hardest races in the world and a defining test in ultrarunning and trail running. With over 100 miles of brutal terrain, cryptic course markings, and a near-impossible success rate, the Barkley has long been considered the ultimate challenge in endurance sports.

Paris has been a long-time running champion and was appointed MBE in 2024 for services to Fell and Long-Distance Running. She won the 2016 Skyrunner World Series Sky Extreme category, and a bronze medal at the 2016 Skyrunning World Championships in the Sky Ultra category. She also received significant media attention for beating the all-time men's course record by 12 hours at the 2019 Spine Race.

Paris is a senior lecturer in the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh.
