Jason Jean is a former tax professional turned freelance photographer. After several years in the public accounting industry while diagnosed with juvenile glaucoma and becoming partially blind, Jean decided to re-explore his creative side that was suppressed since childhood. He started shooting mid-2008 and fell in love with capturing style/fashion/beauty portraiture while connecting with various inspirational people throughout the world.

Citizen Couture was a project established shortly after New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2009 and soon developed into a website focused on exploring and capturing fashion and beauty inspirations while globally reaching out to fashion bloggers, including other creative communities. It also extends social awareness among fashion insiders and emerging artists/designers utilizing the web to create better communication for people who are passionate about art and fashion.

Jean currently resides in New York City where he divides his time with Citizen Couture and other works. He has had the opportunity and pleasure to work with Harper's Bazaar U.S., Allure Magazine, Net-A-Porter, Grazia Italia, GREY Magazine, and YOU Magazine, to name a few. Many of Jean's photos have also been published worldwide.
