He holds more than 10 World Records in extreme endurance athletics. Romero is also an author and the subject of a full-length documentary.

Romero has been the proverbial "underdog" in life. He comes from humble beginnings and was raised by a single-mother who taught him the value of a strong work ethic. In his teen years he was told he would go blind, and his dream of having a professional career was out of the question. Despite the bleak prognosis, Romero eventually became an attorney and business executive. As Romero's eye disease progressed, he experience a severe depression. It was at this low point in life that Romero accepted the challenge to, and did run 51.5 miles per day from Los Angeles to New York. Romero believes "all things are possible!"
