The Cryptocurrency Frenzy: Planning for Employee Compensation with Bitcoin

In this new work world, labor shortages and skills gaps exist across the country. The ways in which we work, receive benefits, and get paid are changing. Before COVID-19, who would have believed that employees could demand to be allowed to work from home and never return to the office? Companies such as Cisco and LinkedIn allowing permanent work-from-home situations was unimaginable. Remote working is one example of how the traditional employment model has changed. While the pandemic changed where we work, the cryptocurrency explosion also started to transform how employees get paid.

In this session, Rey Ramirez and Jason Walker will explore why they expect U.S. Bitcoin adoption to increase in the months and years ahead, and payment queries from workers to grow from murmurs into a clamor. It’s a question of when, not if. In anticipation of that shift, they will share suggestions to help companies prepare.

Reinvigorating a Remote Workforce and Leading for Peak Productivity

It seems like in 2022 everything needs a “rethink.” Politics. The environment. And far from least of all, work itself. As businesses still grapple with working remotely during a pandemic, it’s clear that many organizations and their workers need help. The New York Times and CNBC, for example, note how the higher productivity seen early in the work-from-home shift may be leading to burnout and “wiped out” motivation. In this session, Rey Ramirez and Jason Walker, the co-founders of Thrive HR Consulting, will discuss how to reinvigorate a remote workforce and lead them into both peak productivity and job satisfaction. Jason and Rey will share their perspectives on how compensation, benefits and total rewards should be addressed to adapt to the “new normal”.

Navigating Successful Mergers and Acquisitions for Startups

Mergers and Acquisitions are complicated and require a high degree of skills and expertise to navigate and execute. Research finds that 70% to 90% of all M&A deals fail, and it's not just small firms, but also corporations such as Microsoft, and Google.

Getting acquired by another firm not only validates that your company is a rising star in your industry, but it can also provide a financing bridge you might have been trying to fill. In this session, Jason and Rey will explore strategies for preparing for a successful acquisition and share how entrepreneurs can minimize any chances of failure.

Addressing the Post Covid-19 Cultural Revolution Inside Organizations through Rewards

Recent changes in the world of work require innovative approaches to showing appreciation and recognition to employees. Providing employees with customizable experiences has a much greater impact than simple rewards such as the Amazon Gift Card. How can HR leaders motivate employees in today’s environment? In this session, Rey Ramirez, co-founder of Thrive HR Consulting, will demonstrate how an easy-to-use technology platform can help achieve peak productivity and job satisfaction by reinforcing company culture and providing memorable experiences for employees.

Successful Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Initiatives for the #NewNormal

Most businesses today have wide ranging customer sets, with diverse needs and solutions. Those that are positioned for success have workforces resembling the customer base. Leaders have an opportunity to build a more equitable and inclusive workplace that will strengthen their organizations far beyond COVID-19. In this session, Jason Walker and Rey Ramirez, co-founders of Thrive HR, will share proven best practices to help leverage the power of inclusion. They will demonstrate how businesses can seize the moment to better support their employees and drive sustainable business performance.

Navigating the Emerging Cannabis Industry: Driving Growth through Reorganization and M&A

Marijuana companies raised $116.8 billion in capital in 2019, according to cannabis industry research firm Viridian Capital Advisors and we can expect this trend to continue. MJShareholders.com predicts that in a few years the marijuana vaping segment may have some leading companies worth billions of dollars. However, many cannabis businesses have been largely mismanaged and have put themselves in some pretty precarious cash positions. Many of these companies are also experiencing hypergrowth and their leaders are in need of assistance with compliance issues, realignment, maintaining and up-leveling company culture, and increasing efficiency. The great majority could benefit from counsel on how to manage their operations, especially post COVID-19.
