Speech Topics

Master Class: Dance the World

Learn the basics of ballroom dance, Latin dance, Country Western, and more. Come with a partner or by yourself. May be tailored to a women-only master class: The Goddess Workshop, dedicated to the feminine spirit, starting with the hips and belly. Or it can be expanded to a larger group, including foods and drinks that complement the world dance culture on display. Have a vacation in a single night!

Jive Talking: Dancing to Improve Your Communication Skills

In the animal kingdom, honeybees communicate with each other by dancing. So do we. Dance is human thought and feeling expressed through the body – at the same time organized movement, language, and a system of guidelines for social situations. As our world is becoming increasingly digital, Jaycee Gossett has found that our youth has lost those skills that were once developed on the dance floor – reading your partner, leading and following – and discusses how we can improve relationships by exploring these subtleties. “There’s something so beautiful about getting into the arms of somebody and sharing a connection with the music and the dancing,” Jaycee says. “You just leave everything behind and you enjoy the moment.”

Dance-formation: Move Your Team

Is your group in need of a jolt? Are their spirits down, job performance lacking, fun quotient in need of a fix? Let Jaycee Gossett take you on an experiential journey, using dance to teach team-building skills. Whether your group is a workplace, a college, a hospital, Jaycee will use dance to break down barriers and help building come together in new ways as a team. “Dance is teamwork, but there still has to be someone leading the way,” says Jaycee. This highly interactive workshop can accommodate small groups up to 100.

Dance-thropology: Cultural Studies through Dance

Take a journey around the world with Jaycee Gossett – no passport required, just your dancing shoes! Jaycee explores the aspects of motion, from cavemen at fire circles to majestic Viennese waltzes to rock and roll, discussing how the art form has been affected over time by politics, art, religion, and the cultures of those who create and participate in it. *May be accompanied by an interactive workshop
