Carter is able to question the dualities of either/or and zero sum games that animate homogeneous or exclusive thought and behavior. Importantly, she also stands on the foundation that was established as a child having to navigate her world of racial and cross-cultural differences and the territory that came with that; and leverages the pride that comes from being a part of a family of ‘firsts’, ‘onlys’, ‘others’, and ‘outsiders’.

Carter has held internal senior leadership positions at companies, such as Facebook, Deloitte & Touche, Denver Public Schools, and Newmont Mining Corporation. Additionally, while at The Kaleidoscope Group, a firm she co-founded, Carter also served as an external diversity and inclusion consultant serving multiple industries. She received her B.A. from Stanford University in International Relations and MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Philanthropically, Carter serves as a board member and advisor of organizations such as Black Star Fund, Summer Search and The Moxie Exchange.

In the field of diversity and inclusion, Carter is known as a thought leader of thought leaders and guide.
