Award-Winning Journalist & Documentary Film Producer Known for "The Pharmacist"

Jed Lipinski is journalist and documentary film producer based in Brooklyn. He has been credited as a writer-producer on Hulu’s “Fyre Fraud,” The Paramount Network’s “Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story,” and “The Pharmacist,” a four-part docuseries for Netflix, which was based on an article he wrote for the Times-Picayune. He is currently working at Jigsaw Productions as a development producer on a 10-part series for HBO Max.

From 2013 to 2017, he covered public health and criminal justice for NOLA.com and The Times-Picayune in New Orleans. Prior to that he was the head culture writer for Capital New York (now Politico New York) and a contributing writer for The New York Times. His work has also appeared in BuzzFeed, Slate, The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Outside, Vice, Salon, Mental Floss, The Village Voice and other outlets.

He has been nominated for an Emmy and a Peabody, and has won awards from the Society for Features Journalism, the Associated Press Media Editors, the Louisiana Press Association, the Press Club of New Orleans, and the Southern Pain Society. His 2017 investigation into medical costs in New Orleans, in partnership with Clear Health Costs and WVUE Fox 8 News, received a National Edward R. Murrow Award. For his coverage of the opioid epidemic in Louisiana, he was awarded fellowships from the National Press Foundation and Images & Voices of Hope.
