Jeff Jonas is the Chief Executive Officer of Sage Therapeutics; he has been in this role since 2013. Previously, he served as President of the Regenerative Medicine Division of Shire plc. He was also Senior Vice President of Pharmaceuticals Research and Development at Shire, the Executive Vice President of ISIS Pharmaceuticals, and Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President of Forest Laboratories.

Jonas has over twenty years of experience in pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, on both the scientific and business side of the industries. He is on the board for Decibel Therapeutics, Generation Bio, and Kaurna Pharmaceuticals. He has also published more than seventy scientific papers and authored over 100 books.

He received his B.A. from Amherst College and his M.D. from Harvard Medical School.
