Jeff Van Gundy is an American commentator and former basketball coach. He served as head coach of the New York Knicks and the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). During his tenure with the Knicks, he led the team to the 1999 NBA Finals, where they ultimately lost to the San Antonio Spurs.

Following his coaching career, Van Gundy became a regular broadcast member for ESPN where, alongside analyst Mark Jackson and play-by-play announcer Mark Breen, he called 5 NBA Finals, including the 2023 series between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets. He currently serves as a senior consultant in the Boston Celtics front office.

Van Gundy is the recipient of an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from his alma mater, Nazareth University.
