Jeffrey Graetsch

Jeffrey Graetsch / Photographer

Photographer Jeffrey Graetsch's fascination with photography began at an early age when he stumbled upon images by the likes of Avedon and Penn in his sister's magazine collection.

He studied their lighting techniques critically and later took his knowledge and skill to assist some of the modern day masters before moving on to begin his own career path.

Today Jeffrey is widely known as a sculptor of the face with his wide array of lighting techniques.

His work reveals both the technical expertise he learned as Tom Munro's first assistant as well as his own idiosyncratic use of light and shadow, resulting in a personal vision that is steeped in dark romanticism and a love for fashion.

Jeffrey's editorial work has appeared in W Korea, Commons and Sense, Italian Flair, The Wall Street Journal Magazine, Plastique, Russian Glamour, Bullett, BlackBook, S Magazine, Anthem, Oyster, Ponytail and Wonderland Magazine, amongst others.

He has photographed celebrities such as Katie Holmes, Mary Louise Parker, Juno Temple, Chloe Sevigny, Lou Doillon, Paz De La Huerta, Norman Reedus, Alexa Chung, Austin Brown and the electronic group, Crystal Castles.

Jeffrey's commercial clients include Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Club Monaco, Bloomingdale's, Ralph Lauren, Three Cosmetics, Marina Rinaldi, Intermix, Isabella Fiore, Klaxon Howl, Liz Claiborne, Johnston's Cashmere, Tory Burch, Jennifer Behr, Shinsegae, Ann Taylor and Alterna Haircare.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Jeffrey currently resides in New York City.
