Jennifer Berry

The currently serving Miss America, Jennifer Berry uses her national platform as a spokesperson for MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, with a life-saving message.

A Role Model: Since 1921, Miss America has represented the best of young American womanhood. Jennifer Berry, this year’s winner, is a role model for other young women of achievement, empowering others to achieve their personal and professional goals. She projects the high ideals of the Miss America Organization – intelligence, talent and strong values – that have made the annual pageant a respected American tradition. Berry’s success inspires other young women to pursue their dreams with hard work and determination.

Representing America: Since 1989, the Miss America Organization has championed the platform concept, requiring each contestant to select a relevant, current issue about which she is passionate. Berry uses her stature to address civic and service groups about her chosen advocacy cause, building intolerance to drunk driving and underage drinking. She donates thousands of service-hours and travels extensively, raising millions of dollars for worthy causes and encouraging others to give back to their own communities.

Inspired Spokeswoman: At 15, Berry lost a close friend in a drunken driving related incident. As a former Miss Oklahoma and now Miss America, Berry spotlights the dangers of underage drinking and driving to prevent similar tragedies. Using the same level of commitment and competitive spirit that won her the prestigious crown, she now uses her forum as a moving national spokesperson for MADD as she delivers common-sense alternatives and a passionate belief in her cause to audiences of all ages.
