Jennifer Griffin

National Security Correspondent, Military Affairs Expert, Journalism Veteran

Jennifer Griffin currently serves as a national security correspondent for FOX News Channel (FNC) and is based out of the Washington, D.C. bureau. She joined the network in October 1999 as a Jerusalem-based correspondent.

Griffin has extensively reported on critical global events, including the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, providing live updates from Lviv and Kyiv. She also secured exclusive interviews during this period, including one with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and another with United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. Previously, Griffin led the coverage of the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan in 2021. She has covered major international news stories extensively, including the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012, and the killing of Osama bin Laden in 2011.

Since 2007, Griffin has reported daily from the Pentagon where she questions senior military leaders, travels to war zones, and reports on all aspects of the military. Her major interviews include conversations with former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta in Baghdad on the day the Iraq War ended and General David Petraeus in Kabul when he took over as the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan. Griffin's robust coverage also includes her reports on the decision by the Trump administration to withdraw U.S. troops from northeast Syria, and she was among the first to report the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Throughout her career, Griffin has demonstrated resilience and dedication, notably overcoming a personal health challenge. Diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer in 2009, she took a break from broadcasting to undergo treatment, returning to work in 2010.

A graduate of Harvard University in 1992 with a B.A. in comparative politics, Griffin is also the co-author of the book "This Burning Land: Lessons from the Frontlines of the Transformed Israeli-Palestinian Conflict," which she wrote with her husband, Greg Myre, reflecting on their experiences in Israel.
