Lead Vocalist of Sugarland, Independent Musician of the Year 2001, Actress

Jennifer Odessa Nettles is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. She is the lead vocalist of the duo Sugarland alongside Kristian Bush. Before Sugarland, Nettles was the frontwoman for the Atlanta-based bands Soul Miner's Daughter and the Jennifer Nettles Band. Her career began to take off with the release of "Story of Your Bones."

Nettles gained further prominence through her collaborations, including as a duet partner on the country version of rock band Bon Jovi's 2006 single "Who Says You Can't Go Home," which reached number one on the Billboard country chart. She has performed at significant festivals such as the 1999 Lilith Fair Tour, Big Day Out 2000, and Music Midtown 1999, and her music has received airplay in major cities like New York, Cleveland, Memphis, Atlanta, and throughout the Carolinas.

Nettles was named Independent Musician of the Year in 2001 and is based in Georgia. Her music, characterized by a blend of rock, blues, folk, and soul, showcases her dynamic vocals, engaging tunes, and crafty songwriting, making her performances memorable for their charismatic stage presence and eclectic sound.
