Jennifer Weiner

Best-Selling Author of "In Her Shoes" & "Then Came You"

World-renowned author Jennifer Weiner made her sensational debut with The New York Times best-seller Good in Bed, the story of a smart, witty plus-size pop-culture journalist whose ex-boyfriend chronicles their ex-sex life on the pages of a top-selling women’s magazine. The following year, Weiner turned her attention to the love/hate affairs of sisterhood in her second novel, In Her Shoes, which instantly became a  New York Times best-seller. Audiences around the world saw In Her Shoes come to life when the film version was released by Twentieth Century Fox in October 2005, starring Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette and Shirley MacLaine.

The author of nine books, Weiner continues to conquer the world of media, this time on the small screen, as an executive producer of ABC Family’s State of Georgia.  The comedy series stars Raven-Symoné as Georgia, an aspiring actress who’s larger than life personality mirrors many of the characters in Weiner’s novels. Following Weiner’s irrestible blend of humor, emotion, and relatability, audiences will fall in love with State of Georgia’s exuberant charm and unabashed fun.

On the heels of Weiner’s executive producer debut is her highly anticipated new novel, Then Came You (July 2011).  Hailed as “a savvy tale told with equal parts love and longing,” by Publisher’s Weekly, Weiner takes readers into the heart of four women’s lives in an unforgettable, timely tale that explores conflicting notions of family and motherhood. With startling tenderness and laugh-out-loud humor, Weiner once again twists humor and topical issues into a can’t-put-down story that is sure to capture the hearts and minds of readers everywhere.

Weiner’s best-selling novels include Fly Away Home (2010), Best Friends Forever (2009), and the highly anticipated follow-up to Good In Bed, Certain Girls (2008), to name a few.  Always teeming with warmth and wit, her novels have been praised as “marvelous,” “thoroughly entertaining,” “utterly hilarious” and “irresistible” by everyone from Publisher’s Weekly to the Washington Post. USA Today proclaimed, “Weiner has emerged as one of the biggest names in popular fiction.”

Weiner brings her charm and wit to the lecture podium, discussing her books, personal experiences and women’s search for a sense of self. In the same sharp and entertaining tone that fills her novels, Weiner wins over audiences with her unforgettable comedic style, making her a favorite speaker that audiences absolutely adore.

Upon graduating from Princeton University, Weiner worked as a journalist for ten years before her first book was published. Prior to the success of Good In Bed, Weiner worked as a staff writer and columnist for The Philadelphia Inquirer, where her stories ranged from profiles of Wendy the Snapple Lady and Adam Sandler to long Sunday stories about teenage drug abuse, sex and college students, and her grandmother’s gefilte fish. Her work has also appeared in Seventeen, Glamour, Redbook, TV Guide, YM and Salon.com.

Jennifer Weiner lives in Philadelphia with her husband and their daughters, Lucy and Phoebe.
