Jesse Draper

Silicon Valley Insider, Digital Media Pioneer, Creator & Host of "The Valley Girl Show"

Jesse Draper may have started her career as a teenage actress, but her passion for both business and education quickly led her away from a traditional acting platform. As a fourth generation Silicon Valley entrepreneur, she hopes to inspire those who live life at the office — along with those who are intimidated and bored by the word "business" — to put the "fun" back into work-life. To accomplish just that, Jesse created both the jovial onscreen personality and the corresponding program, "The Valley Girl Show," through which she's become a spokesperson for startups and helped pioneer new media content distribution.

Formerly a Nickelodeon star, Jesse is now CEO of Valley GirlTM where she runs pre-production through post-production, along with distribution, for the show. She has interviewed some of the biggest names in business, government, entertainment and technology including Ted Turner, Richard Branson, Steve Wozniak, Sheryl Sandberg and Mark Cuban. As Jesse explains, "We're trying to be the Ellen DeGeneres of business."

The Valley Girl Show is syndicated across a network of distribution partners and regularly receives over 2 million monthly views across multiple platforms. These platforms include television boxes such as Roku and Boxee, iTunes, and mobile apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. It can also be seen through media partners such as Mashable.com and on screens in airports internationally.

She is widely recognized as a leading online influencer and a prominent voice for the next generation of business mavericks and was placed in the top 3 percent of Fast Company's "Online Influence Project." Through Mashable alone, each video receives an average of almost 800 tweets along with several hundred Facebook likes and shares on LinkedIn. She was recently named one of "Hollywood's New Leaders" by Variety. USA Today calls the show "must see TV for startups." The Valley Girl Show is currently filming its fifth season.

Jesse runs the technology blog Lalawag.com and is a regularly featured writer for Mashable, San Francisco Chronicle, Huffington Post and Glam.com. She frequently lectures at businesses and corporations of all sizes, prestigious universities that include Stanford and University of Edinburgh (Scotland), and business conferences across the globe, including DLD, SXSW, TEDxBayArea and AdWeek.

Jesse is a board member of the LA World Affairs Council Young Professionals and is involved with the BizWorld Foundation, a nonprofit that brings business and entrepreneurship into the classroom. She is a graduate of UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television, and actively advises chapters of her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, at UCLA, Pepperdine and USC.
