Jessica Beckerman is co-founder and chief medical officer at Muso, a global health organization working to stop preventable deaths in the world’s poorest communities. In this role, she oversees quality and integrated-care delivery from community to clinic to hospital.

Beckerman is also an obstetrician at Highland Hospital, a public safety net teaching hospital. Previously, she worked for Tostan in West Africa and as a project manager at Partners in Health. She has worked in Mali since 2004, when she was a Fulbright Scholar there.

For her work at Muso, Beckerman is the co-recipient of the 2021 Charles Bronfman Prize, presented annually to a humanitarian under 50 whose innovative work, informed by Jewish values, has significantly improved the world.
