New York State Assembly Member of the 34th District & Adjunct Professor of Clinical Law at NYU School of Law; Former Executive Director of the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health

Jessica González-Rojas, an activist, politician, and academic, currently serves as the New York State Assembly member for the 34th District. Her political career began to gain momentum in 2020 when she triumphed over incumbent Michael DenDekker in the primary. Prior to her political role, González-Rojas held the position of executive director at the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health and was an adjunct professor of Latin American Studies at the City University of New York's City College. She is currently an adjunct professor of clinical law at New York University's School of Law.

González-Rojas has made significant strides in her political career. She is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and aligns herself with the Democratic Party. Her influence extends to various committees within the New York State Assembly, including the Committee on Children and Families, the Committee on Cities, and the Committee on Social Services. High-profile endorsements have also been a part of her political journey, with Bernie Sanders endorsing her 2020 run and her becoming the first elected official to endorse Dianne Morales in the 2021 New York City mayoral election.

The foundation of González-Rojas's career was built on a solid educational background. She completed her bachelor's degree in international relations from Boston University and further earned a Master's in Public Administration (M.P.A.) from New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
