Jessica Polka  

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Silver Lab, Department of Systems Biology, Harvard Medical School

Jessica Polka is a Jane Coffin Childs Fellow in the Department of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School. Advised by Pamela Silver, she is currently engineering micron-scale, membrane-breaking protein actuators that naturally function to deliver biologically active molecules into eukaryotic cells. She is also interested in increasing scientific efficiency by improving the structure of the biomedical research enterprise. In 2014, she co-organized the Future of Research conference in Boston to give early career researchers a voice in policy discussions, and she is a member of the steering committee of Rescuing Biomedical Research.
