Jia Ping is Chief Executive Director and Founder of China Global Fund Watch Initiative, which serves as an independent watchdog over the activities of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in China. The organization focuses on health governance, transparency, public participation, and public policy and law research. Jia is a leading human rights lawyer and researcher on HIV/AIDS and law in China. He co-authored the blood transfusion compensation plan for the PLHIV community in China, pushing hard to set up the compensation mechanism. Jia also served as Executive Director of Tsinghua University's human rights and constitutional law centre. He was a visiting scholar at the Columbia University Center for the Study of Human Rights in 2005 and the Asia Society's Asia 21 Young Leader Fellow from 2008 to 2009. Jia holds an LLM from Ren Min University Law School in Beijing and an LLB from the East China Political and Law School in Shanghai.
