Jill Flint was born in Cherry Valley, New York. Flint is engaged and lives in Brooklyn, New York. Her brother is in the National Guard and a volunteer fireman, and in his spare time races cars. In an interview for Royal Pains, Flint explained that she has never gotten her driver's license and is considered the black sheep of her family, since both her father and brother are race car drivers.

Flint has appeared in several feature films, most recently in Cadillac Records with Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright and Beyonc Knowles, and The Women, alongside stars Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes and Debra Messing. Flint is best known for her role of Jill Casey in USA Network's series "Royal Pains", and as the popular character Lana Delaney, a lesbian FBI Agent, on CBS' award winning show "The Good Wife". She will also play one of the lead characters, Jordan Santos, in NBC's upcoming hour-long drama "The Night Shift."
