Business Speaker Jim Kennedy is the current chairman of Cox Enterprises, the media conglomerate founded by his gradfather, James M. Cox. During his tenure as chairman, annual revenues have increased from $1.8 billion to 1988 to nearly $15 billion today. Now, Cox Enterprises included Cox Communications cable company, Cox Media Group (consisting of newspapers, TV and radio stations), Manheim (car auctions) and AutoTrader.com.

Jim Kennedy is a graduate of Denver University, where he earned a degree in business administration. He began his career at Cox Enterprises in 1972 and has worked in a variety of positions during his time at the company. Mainly, Kennedy worked within Cox Newspapers and served as a production assistant reporter, copy editor, advertising salesman, business manager and executive vice president/general manager. He was named the executive vice president of Cox Enterprises in 1986.

Kennedy has a noted interest in wildlife habitat conservation. He serves on the board of the PATH Foundation and established the James P. Kennedy endowed chair of waterfowl & wetlands management at Mississippi State University in 2008. Interestingly, he is also a former competitive cyclist and is a past Masters National, Pan American and World Champion in the 3000 meter pursuit.

Jim Kennedy has a net worth of $6 billion and is ranked No. 53 on Forbes list of the 400 richest Americans. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and currently resides in Atlanta, GA with his wife, Sarah. Jim is available for speaking engagements, hosting and corporate appearances.
