Joan Chen is an internationally respected Chinese actress, director, screenwriter, and producer.

Popular and critically acclaimed (with numerous awards and nominations), she is best known for her roles in movies ranging from The Last Emperor, Tai Pan, Heaven & Earth, to Maos Last Dancer, Saving Face, Jasmine Women, The Home Song Stories, Dim Sum: A Little Bit of Heart, The Sun Also Rises, and Lust, Caution. She was also a big favorite in Twin Peaks (TV Series). In 2000, Joan Chen directed Autumn in New York, starring Richard Gere and Winona Ryder.
