Jodi Picoult is the best-selling author of 21 novels, the latest of which is The Storyteller. Her other books include My Sister's Keeper - adapted into a major motion picture starring Cameron Diaz and Abigail Breslin and directed by Nick Cassavetes - Songs of the Humpback Whale, Vanishing Acts, The Tenth Circle, House Rules, Lone Wolf, and the young adult novel Between the Lines, co-written with her daughter Samantha van Leer. Her last seven novels have debuted at number one on The New York Times Bestseller List.

Her books are translated into 34 languages in 35 countries and four of her novels - The Pact, Plain Truth, The Tenth Circle, and Salem Falls - have been made into television movies. She has also written five issues of the "Wonder Woman" comic book series for DC Comics.

In 2003, Picoult was awarded the New England Bookseller Award for Fiction. She has also won an Alex Award from the Young Adult Library Services Association sponsored by the Margaret Alexander Edwards Trust and Booklist, the Book Browse Diamond Award for novel of the year, a Lifetime Achievement Award for mainstream fiction from the Romance Writers of America, Cosmopolitan magazine's Fearless Fiction Award in 2007, the Waterstones Author of the Year, the Vermont Green Mountain Book Award, the Virginia Readers' Choice Award, the Abraham Lincoln Illinois High School Book Award, and the Maryland Black-Eyed Susan Award. She was a nominee for the Good Reads Choice Awards of 2014 for her novel "Leaving Time."

Picoult studied creative writing at Princeton University and had two short stories published in Seventeen magazine while still a student. She worked a series of different jobs - as a technical writer for a Wall Street brokerage firm, a copywriter at an ad agency, an editor at a textbook publisher, and an eighth grade English teacher - before entering Harvard to pursue a master's in education. She wrote her first novel, Songs of the Humpback Whale, while pregnant with her first child.

Jodi Picoult received an honorary Doctor of Letters degree from Dartmouth College in 2010 and another from the University of New Haven in 2012.
