Joe Garcia is lieutenant governor of Colorado. He brings a passion for education and public service to the capitol. As former president of a university and a community college, Garcia is familiar with both the policy and practice of ensuring all students have the higher education they need to meet the workforce demands of the future. As a parent, he knows the importance of both early childhood education and a rigorous K-12 system and has made education system alignment a priority during his tenure in the dual role of lieutenant governor and executive director of the Colorado Department of Higher Education.
