Joe Pequerrucho

Joe Who.

Joe Pequerrucho, son of Portuguese parents, was born and raised in Rotterdam. His fascination for magic and mystery started at a very young age. He became interested in the art of magic at the age of 8 after seeing his father do some sleight of hand tricks with playing cards. Soon after that, Joe was already performing his magic tricks for his friends and relatives.

After graduating, Joe worked as a quality auditor for a well-known computer software company for 5 years. At night, he was doing magic performances for restaurants and private parties. At the age of 23, he decided to become a fulltime magic entertainer.

In 1995 and 1996, Joe tours The Netherlands with the pop group Planet X; during their live shows, Joe performed several illusions in conjunction to their music.

In the following years, many people see his appearance in several diner-shows in which he performed large stage acts as well as his astounding table-magic.

When the European currency changed into the Euro in 2001, Joe had the honour to introduce the new coins with his magical skills live on Dutch television during a New Years evening gala-show starring various well-known artists.

One of Joe’s dreams came true early 2004; the year in which he appears in the Belgian version of the British television-program 'Astounding Celebrities' called 'The Magical Four', a series of 10 episodes in which Joe works the minds of Belgian and Dutch celebrities. The show was broadcasted by VT4 during spring 2004.

Late 2004 Joe is starring in the sequel to 'The Magical Four' in which he astounds even more celebrities with his mind-boggling feats. During this season, the channel VT4 will also be broadcasting a re-run of the first ten episodes.

During spring 2005, Joe creates a new half-hour show called 'Do You Mind?' an interactive performance in which he reads minds, makes accurate predictions and takes his magic to a higher level.

Joe develops a custom-made program for the craziest theme-restaurant in Holland in the fall of 2005. The show called 'PARANORMAF' plays on a weekly base in De Mafkethel in Rotterdam.

2006 is the year of 'MindLeader', the sequel to the show 'Do You Mind?'.

Many television programs concerning the paranormal and so-called ‘mediums’ cause a stir in Holland this year. This is the reason for Joe to give his opinion about the supernatural in his own way.

In this eye-opening performance, Joe demonstrates well-known paranormal phenomena such as bending cutlery by the power of the mind, clairvoyance and telepathy. His audiences also witness the unlimited possibilities of non-verbal communication and the mysteries of the sub-conscious.

This interactive performance boggles the minds of believers as well as sceptics. Late 2006, the program 'Believe it or not', broadcasted by TV Rijnmond covers a part of this show.

Beginning 2007, Joe appears weekly in the Dutch television program 'In search of the sixth sense' in which he is seen as one of the three observers to many psychic tests on the psychic candidates. In the 9 episodes of this program, Joe’s task is to make sure no trickery is involved during the testing procedures.
