Stand-up Comedian and Writer

Joel Kim Booster is a stand-up comedian and author. He has appeared on TBS's Conan as well as Comedy Central's @Midnight and The Meltdown With Jonah and Kumail, Bravo's Then and Now, Logo's Comedy Cabaret, and TruTV's Comedy Knockout.

For television, his writing credits include Billy On The Street and the Comedy Central pilot, Problematic W/ Moshe Kasher, and the upcoming The Other Two, created and executive produced by Chris Kelley and Sarah Schneider.

As a comedian, he has performed at numerous comedy clubs, bar basements and festivals all across the country and abroad. He has been featured at SXSW, Bumbershoot, Outside Lands, The Bridgetown Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest, The New York Comedy Festival, and the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal where he performed as one of the New Faces of Comedy in 2016.

Vulture recently named Joel one their Comedians You Should (and Will) Know for 2017, and Esquire Magazine named him one of their 10 Best Stand-Up Comedians To Watch in 2017. He also recently had the honor of being named one of Forbes 30 Under 30 in the Hollywood and Entertainment division.

Booster is a playwright as well. His world premiere collaboration with The New Colony, Kate and Sam Are Not Breaking Up, opened in fall of 2013 in Chicago to critical acclaim and garnered a non-equity Jeff Award nomination for Best New Work. The play has been had both East and West Coast premieres, a Canadian production, and is currently available to purchase via Chicago Dramaworks.
