After experiencing first-hand the difficulty developers face in accepting payments for their online creations, John Collison co-founded Stripe in 2010 with the ambitious goal of building the payment infrastructure for the Internet.

Stripe is John’s second company. In 2007, he co-founded Auctomatic, an auction and marketplace management system for sellers. Auctomatic was acquired in 2008 by Canadian company Live Current Media.

John grew up in Ireland where he started building websites when he was 14. Before launching Stripe, John studied physics at Harvard.
