John Donvan          

Moderator, "Open to Debate"; Correspondent, ABC News; Author of "In a Different Key: The Story of Autism"

John Donvan is a veteran network correspondent and producer for ABC, CNN and PBS, and host and moderator of "Open for Debate" (formerly "Intelligence Squared U.S."), heard on public radio and by podcast.

The winner of four Emmys and the Overseas Press Club Award, Donvan coauthored the bestselling book, "In a Different Key: The Story of Autism," a Pulitzer Prize non-fiction finalist. Donvan later served as co-director and co-producer of the similarly titled documentary, "In a Different Key," an official selection of several film festivals.

During his journalism career, in addition to anchoring various ABC broadcasts, Donvan served as chief White House correspondent, and held multiyear postings in London, Moscow, Jerusalem and Amman, Jordan. Earlier in his career, Donvan was a foreign correspondent for CNN and worked in local TV and radio news. He has also been a contributing editor to "The Atlantic."

Donvan graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and is a graduate of the Columbia University's School of Journalism.
