John is chief executive officer at Castlight. During 2016, John served as president and chief operating officer of Castlight. He joined the company in 2012 as its chief financial officer. John joined Castlight after more than 20 years primarily in the biotechnology industry where he had most recently been the chief operating officer at Achaogen, a publicly-held firm focused on the development of antibiotics.

John holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and received his undergraduate degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He is a member of the 2012 Class of Henry Crown Fellows at the Aspen Institute and serves on the Achaogen board of directors.
