John Harper / Vortex Productions    

John Harper is a promoter, producer, and project manager of concert tours and special events. One of his productions, Blackout, The New York Times called it "the extreme theater event of the year."

While still in college, he began working with booking agent Michael Farrell (Phil Collins, Genesis, Pink Floyd, and others) on the Rest of World (LatAm, Asia, and Australia/NZ) dates for the Rolling Stones A Bigger Bang Tour in 2005-06. Following concert tours included David Gilmour On an Island North American Tour, The Who Uncut Uncensored Unrepentant World Tour, and Genesis Turn It On Again North American Tour, all as part of promoter Michael Cohl's organizations (CPI, Live Nation Artists, and S2BN Entertainment). More recently, John has been running point on the Yo Gabba Gabba Live tour.

John is a co-owner and executive producer of Blackout, an interactive/experiential event that has garnered significant popular, critical, and celebrity acclaim.

John builds web applications with Ruby on Rails (a web development framework popularized by Twitter, Hulu, and LivingSocial, among others). Projects currently in production include a custom content management system powering his tour web sites and a ticket sales application for pre-sales and friends & family VIP orders.
