Chief Marketing Officer Verizon Enterprise Solutions

John Harrobin is chief marketing officer of Verizon Enterprise Solutions, responsible for market strategy and segmentation, analyst relations, alternative channel development, partner management, web marketing / e-commerce, marketing operations, marketing communications, and Verizon’s global brand image. He is based out of Verizon’s headquarters location in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. In this capacity, John has been instrumental in streamlining and simplifying Verizon's product portfolio, expanding distribution, and increasing the effectiveness of funnel management and strategic revenue growth through the deployment of sales tools, training, advanced analytics, and pricing strategies.

John has previously served as vice-president of marketing and CRM for Verizon Wireless and also senior vice-president of marketing and digital media for Verizon Communications, responsible for functions such as business development, advertising, media buying and planning, brand management, store merchandising, go-to-market, sponsorships, ad sales, as well as content and programming across the Verizon entertainment platforms, including FiOS TV.

A 15-year company veteran, he has served in a variety of field and national leadership positions and led the development of several innovative front-line tools and services – such as $9.99 Family Share Plans, Lifetime Value (LTV) customer management, and marquee campaigns such as Chocolate™, V CAST, and It’s The Network, Droid, 4GLTE, Verizon iPhone, Susie’s Lemonade, and Share Everything. In addition, John led negotiations for several partnerships, business arrangements, and investments including: YouTube, ESPN, Comcast Spotlight, Disney, Google/Android, Invidi, Facebook, Time Warner Cable, ISIS joint venture with AT&T and T-Mobile, Skype, The X Factor, and NFL.

He has been recognized in several Advertising Age lists including “40 under 40”, “Marketing 50”, and “Hottest Brands” (Droid). John has also received the prestigious “Communicator of the Year” award, whose previous winners include Tom Brokaw, Malcolm Forbes, and Ed Koch.

John earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Villanova University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a Certified Management Accountant and serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of National Advertisers (ANA).
