John La Puma        

Physician, Celebrity Chef, Bestselling Author & Host of Lifetime's "Chef MD"

John La Puma, MD, FACP is an internist and the New York Times best selling author or co-author of seven books, translated into 10 languages and selling over a million copies.

He was the first postgraduate fellow in the University of Chicago’s Clinical Medical Ethics program, and was formerly a Clinical Associate Professor there, establishing clinical ethics consultation. He later graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago, worked at Topolobampo with Chef Rick Bayless for four years, taught as a Professor of Nutrition at Kendall College of the Culinary Arts, and wrote the “RealAge Diet” and “Cooking the RealAge Way” with Dr. Michael Roizen.

Dr. La Puma co-founded ChefMD, and is considered the founder of culinary medicine, now taught in over 50% of U.S. medical schools and worldwide. With Leeza Gibbons and Joan Lunden, Dr. La Puma co-hosted the national cable weekly series “Health Corner”, underwritten by Walgreenʼs, for Lifetime TV for five years and 120 episodes. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed scientific papers, three medical books and hundreds of other works.

His newest project is MyNatureDose.com, a free activities-based anxiety-relief digital therapeutic program, outside. Dr. La Puma currently stewards a certified organic regenerative urban farm in Santa Barbara, California and consults on therapeutic regenerative gardens.
