John Mayer

Grammy Award-Winning Singer-Songwriter & Guitarist Known for "Your Body Is a Wonderland" & "Waiting on the World to Change"

John Mayer began his journey into music at an early age, becoming fascinated with the guitar after watching Michael J. Fox's performance in Back to the Future. He started playing guitar at the age of 13 and became a fan of blues music. Mayer's passion for music led him to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He also formed the rock duo Lo-Fi Masters with guitarist Clay Cook, gaining a minor following by performing at local clubs. His talent soon caught the attention of Aware Records, which signed him and released his debut EP, "Inside Wants Out."

Mayer's first two studio albums, "Room for Squares" and "Heavier Things," earned both critical acclaim and commercial success. He later formed the John Mayer Trio and released the live album "Try!" and the studio album "Continuum," which won Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the Grammy Awards and was also nominated for Album of the Year. After a brief withdrawal from public life, Mayer returned to the music scene with his album "Born and Raised" in 2012. Mayer has also pursued secondary careers in television hosting, comedy, and writing, showcasing his versatility beyond music.

Throughout his career, Mayer has sold over 20 million albums worldwide and has consistently demonstrated his value as a public speaker. He has headlined multiple tours, co-headlined with artists like Guster, Counting Crows, and Sheryl Crow, and has opened for prominent artists such as Sting. Mayer's passion extends to collecting watches, with a collection valued in the "tens of millions" of dollars. He has also used his platform for philanthropic efforts, creating the "Back to You" Fund, a nonprofit organization focusing on fundraising in healthcare, education, the arts, and talent development.
