John Replogle
Sustainable Business Leader, Former CEO of Burt's Bees, Partner at One Better Ventures
John Replogle joined Seventh Generation in March of 2011, bringing his extensive experience as a seasoned leader in sustainable business practices. Before joining Seventh Generation, he served as the President & CEO of Burt’s Bees, where under his guidance, the company not only led in Earth-friendly, natural personal care products but also achieved significant growth. His tenure at Burt’s Bees saw the brand expand its market leadership not only across the US but also into 20 global markets, enjoying double-digit growth rates. The brand was recognized as the #1 Green Brand in the 2010 Imagepower survey, a testament to his effective leadership.
Replogle’s career also includes impactful roles at major corporations such as Unilever and Diageo. At Unilever, he managed the skin care division and played a crucial role in launching the Real Beauty campaign for Dove and establishing the Dove Self-Esteem Fund. His leadership at Diageo was marked by his tenure as President of Guinness Bass Import Company and Managing Director of Guinness Great Britain, where he led significant initiatives in marketing, sales, and strategy.
Educated at Dartmouth College and Harvard Business School, where he earned his MBA with distinction, Replogle has always been committed to integrating sustainable practices in business to enhance profitability. He now shares this expertise globally, teaching corporate audiences the benefits of sustainable business practices. Beyond his professional endeavors, Replogle is a passionate outdoorsman, which aligns well with his advocacy for environmental well-being. He and his wife Kristin, along with their four daughters, are advocates for natural products, underscoring a family commitment to sustainability. Currently, Replogle is a Partner at One Better Ventures, furthering his commitment to impactful and sustainable business leadership.
