John Stankey has led AT&T as CEO since July 2020 after previously serving as president and chief operating officer. Stankey’s leadership is driving AT&T’s transformation and its focus on being the best connectivity provider.

With more than $122 billion in 2023 revenues, AT&T is one of the world’s largest companies in technology and telecom. Between 2019 and 2023, AT&T invested more than $145 billion in its wireless and wireline networks, including capital investments and acquisitions of wireless spectrum. It is consistently one of the top annual investors of capital in the United States.

Stankey joined AT&T in 1985 and has 38 years of accomplished leadership spanning nearly every area of AT&T’s business. He has served in a variety of roles including CEO of WarnerMedia; CEO of AT&T Entertainment Group; Chief Strategy Officer; Chief Technology Officer; CEO of AT&T Operations; and CEO of AT&T Business Solutions. He currently serves on AT&T’s board of directors.

He holds a BBA in Finance from Loyola Marymount University and an MBA from University of California, Los Angeles.
