John Treacy Egan

“Great Big Broadway”

Veteran Broadway performer and funnyman, John Treacy Egan, has a “baby face” that truly belies the depth and breadth of an amazing career on the stage, on TV, in film, and in concert halls across America.

Broadway credits include: 2011 star turn in the musical version of Whoopi Goldberg’s Sister Act; creation of the role of Chef Louis in Disney’s The Little Mermaid on Broadway; the roles of Max Bialystock, Roger DeBris and Franz Liebkind in Mel Brooks’ The Producers; the recent revival of Bye Bye Birdie at The Roundabout; the original cast of the Broadway production of Jekyll & Hyde. John has also toured the US and Europe in productions of Kiss Me Kate and Cats. Off-Broadway, John created roles in Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly! , and was also an original cast member of Batboy: The Musical.

On the “small screen”, John has appeared on 30 Rock, Martin Scorcese’s Boardwalk Empire, Cupid, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and As the World Turns. On the “big screen”, he can be seen in the film Last Night with Keira Knightley and Eva Mendes, and the film version of The Producers. He has sung on Bravo presents Linda Eder and can be heard on theatrical recordings of The Little Mermaid, Jekyll & Hyde, and other Broadway hits.

John’s solo concert, “Great Big Broadway”, is an evening of comedy and romance featuring his soaring tenor voice singing some of the biggest blockbuster show tunes of all time – songs like “If I Loved You”, “Being Alive”, “Maria”, “Once Upon a Dream”, “Music of the Night”, and the hysterical “King of Broadway” from the Producers. In addition to warming your heart with these classics from Sondheim, Rogers & Hammerstein, Lloyd-Webber, Wildhorn and other more modern composers, he’ll regale you with great backstage stories that will have you rolling in the aisles.
