Jon R. Cohen, M.D., is a Senior Correspondent for Science, specializing in infectious diseases, immunology, vaccines, public health, and genomics. He has accrued significant expertise in these areas, which is complemented by his extensive background in healthcare policy and his experience as a practicing surgeon. Before his current role at Science, Dr. Cohen held prominent positions in the healthcare sector, including Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer, and Director of Hospital Services at Quest Diagnostics. He has also served as Senior Advisor to New York Governor David A. Paterson, focusing on policy and strategic planning.

Dr. Cohen's investigative journalism has earned him a national Emmy for his work on two multi-part series on the PBS NewsHour, focused on efforts to end the AIDS epidemic.
