Speech Topics

The Mentality of Success

Jon Lovitz has been a successful actor, and comedian, ever since he was hired for "Saturday Night Live," in 1985. But, what about the 7 years before that? How did he persevere, with only one job in acting, for two weeks, in seven years? And this was after starting doing plays at 15 years old and four years of college, as a drama major? How did he break through, in what is arguably, one of the toughest  professions, to succeed? From a nobody to a legendary, comedy icon for four decades?

Lovitz believes the point of life is to learn everything you can and teach others what you’ve learned. And in his very inspirational talk, he will share with you The Mentality of Success. In his talk, which will be very informative (and funny), Lovitz will teach what he has learned over the years, some things he discovered on his own, and share many anecdotes from extremely successful people he had the pleasure of working with and knowing.

A few of the topics include:

  • The real definition of your IQ: (It doesn’t measure your intelligence! It measures something else!!! Opening up the possibilities of your choice of a career!)
  • Be the best you can be, not as good as someone else! (You might be holding yourself back!
  • Lessons I learned from "Saturday Night Live."
  • Discovering your genius  (Everyone is great at something.)
  • No one can stop you from becoming great: (Why living in the United States is the greatest opportunity and how  to take advantage of it.)
  • Why you?  (Why not you? Don’t listen to others.)

And legendary advice he received from giants in the industry, such as Lorne Michaels from "SNL," Mo Ostin, the President of Warner Brothers Music, Bernie Brillstein and Brad Gray, two of the successful managers in show business ever, Jerry Bruckheimer, the most successful producer of television and movies in the history of Hollywood, and others. He will also do a Q and A, to help people even more specifically.

This is the advice you need to hear. Everyone who has followed it, succeeds. If this is your goal, this talk is a MUST in your life. It will save you years of time on your path to a fulfilling career. Remember: it’s one thing to want to succeed… it’s another thing to know how.
