Host of "The Daily Show," Comedian & Producer; Veteran & First Responder Advocate

Jon Stewart is a comedian, writer, producer, director, political commentator, actor, and television host. He hosted "The Daily Show," a satirical news program on Comedy Central, from 1999 to 2015 and returned to the show beginning in 2024. He also hosted "The Problem with Jon Stewart" on Apple TV+ from 2021 to 2023.

Stewart started his career as a stand-up comedian before transitioning into television as host of "Short Attention Span Theater" for Comedy Central. He went on to host "The Jon Stewart Show" and then "You Wrote It, You Watch It," both on MTV. Stewart also has appeared in several films, such as Big Daddy and Death to Smoochy, but did a few cinematic projects after becoming the host of "The Daily Show." Besides hosting, he also served as a writer and co-executive producer of the show.

Under Stewart's tenure, "The Daily Show" gained popularity and critical acclaim, winning 22 Primetime Emmy Awards. Stewart himself has been awarded two Grammy Awards and five Peabody Awards. He was also honored with the Bronze Medallion in 2019 and the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2022. In addition to his television work, Stewart has written best-selling satirical books, "America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction" and "Earth (The Book): A Visitor's Guide to the Human Race."

Stewart's advocacy work off-screen is notable, particularly for 9/11 first responders and war veterans' health benefits. He played a key role in passing the Honoring Our PACT Act of 2022, which expands healthcare access and funding for veterans exposed to toxic substances during their service.

A rotating lineup of show regulars are on tap for the rest of the week.
