Jonathan Adler

Iconic Potter, Designer, Author & Personality

Jonathan Adler is a potter, designer, author, lifestyle personality, and founder of Jonathan Adler Enterprises. His bold, irreverent interior designs can be seen in several commercial and residential projects, one of the most notable being the Parker Palm Springs Hotel.

He launched his first ceramic collection in 1993 at Barneys New York and later expanded into home furnishings, opening his first namesake boutique in SoHo, Manhattan. Today, he has 30 retail stores across the globe, a thriving e-commerce site, and a global wholesale business, which boasts more than 1,000 points of international distribution and purchase.

In 2017, Jonathan became the creative director for Fisher-Price and has partnered with countless brands for different licensing opportunities, including TUMI, KOHLER, LACOSTE, UNIQLO, Peroni, Clinique, TOMS, LG SIGNATURE, Caesarstone, and AC Hotels. Recently, Jonathan became the first person to collaborate with H&M HOME, selling out the line within minutes. Next year, he will be expanding into the pet, stationary, and hospitality amenities verticals.

Jonathan has also created multiple diffusion brands, such as Happy Chic Accessorizing and Now House, which was Amazon’s first-ever exclusive designer collaboration for the home.

He was the lead judge on the Bravo series "Top Design" and has published four books in the design and entertaining space.

An Interview With Jonathan Adler
Beginning with a humble lump of clay, potter, designer, and author Jonathan Adler launched his aesthetic of irreverent luxury in 1994. His home furnishings and sense of irreverent luxury have since been embraced worldwide in stores, homes, hotels, and even on the set of E!’s Fashion Police, which he designed. His fourth book, 100 Ways to Happy Chic your Life, was released in November 2012. He shares with me some of his feelings about style, craft, joy and Etsy.
