Jonathan Baillie      

Chief Scientist & Senior Vice President of Science & Exploration, National Geographic Society

Jonathan Baillie is the Chief Scientist and Senior Vice President of Science and Exploration at the National Geographic Society. He is also vice chair of the National Geographic Society's Committee for Research and Exploration.

Before his time with National Geographic, Baillie worked at the Zoological Society of London where he oversaw conservation projects focusing on threatened species and their habitats in more than 50 countries.

Baillie received his undergraduate degree from Queen’s University in Canada and his master's degree from Yale University. He went on to earn his Ph.D. from Silwood Park, Imperial College London.
