Jonathan Zagdanski, an observant Jew, is a First Lieutenant in the US Army. He served as a paratrooper in the 75th Ranger Regiment, an elite special operations unit, and participated in training exercises in Central America, West Africa, and Germany. He was deployed to Kuwait in Operation Enduring Freedom and has been involved in direct combat operations in Iraq.
