Jordan Reeves

Disability Activist, Social Impact Innovator & TEDx Speaker

Jordan Reeves has been a dedicated advocate for young people with physical disabilities.

Growing up, Jordan's mother, Jen, a journalist, started a blog about raising a child with a physical disability. Jordan contributed to this online community, sharing her story and connecting with families facing similar challenges. Her active childhood, which included dancing and playing various sports, earned her recognition, including the Women’s Intersport Network's “Inspiration Award” in 2013.

A significant moment in Jordan's journey was her creation of a glitter-shooting prosthetic arm, dubbed "Project Unicorn," at a workshop for kids with limb differences. This innovative project gained media attention and led to numerous presentations and awards, including a Disney Parks Dream Big Princess Innovation Award. Her advocacy extended to pushing for more inclusive toys, leading to a successful change.org petition for American Girl dolls to include limb difference options.

Jordan's advocacy efforts expanded as she spoke at TEDx events and other platforms, emphasizing the importance of representing physical disabilities in mainstream media and product design. She co-founded the nonprofit Design With Us, which offers BOOST workshops to teach design and STEAM skills to kids with disabilities. Her consulting work with major brands, including Mattel, and speaking engagements at conferences like SXSW highlight her impact on inclusive design.

Jordan continues to inspire through her public speaking and advocacy, recognized as a finalist for Time Magazine and Nickelodeon’s 2020 Kid of the Year and listed in PEOPLE Magazine’s “Teens Changing the World.” She is pursuing a BFA in acting at Purchase College Conservatory of Theatre Arts, aiming to use her platform to further conversations about disabilities and demonstrate the importance of embracing differences.
