After graduating from Clarence High School in New York in 1995, Spiro spent her summers studying acting at the Circle in the Square Theatre and overseas at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. She had her first onscreen role with a guest spot on Marie Osmond's short-lived comedy series, "Maybe This Time" (ABC, 1995-96). After appearing in episodes of "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" (WB, 1996-2003) and "City Guys" (NBC, 1997-2002), Spiro made her feature debut in the straight-to-video release "From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter" (1999). If nothing else, she got a free trip to South Africa.
Returning to television, she landed her first regular series role in "The Huntress" (TNT, 2000-02), playing Brandi Thorson, the daughter in a mother-daughter bounty hunting duo (the mother was played by Annette O'Toole) who use their feminine wiles to lure their targets. Once "The Huntress" came and went, it was back to guest starring roles for Spiro, who appeared in episodes of "CSI: New York" (CBS, 2004- ), "JAG" (NBC, 1995-2005) and "Cold Case" (CBS, 2003- ). She had another minor, but memorable feature role, playing the ditzy date of an awkward boat builder (John Cusack) in "Must Love Dogs" (2005), but then was lost in the shuffle in the made-for-Lifetime movie "Partner(s)" (2005).
Spiro next landed her starring role on "My Boys" as the authentic and irresistible PJ, a sassy sportswriter who covers the Chicago Cubs for The Chicago Sun-Times and prefers drinking beer, weekly poker games and engaging in guy talk.
