CEO at MasTec; Managing Owner of Inter Miami FC

Jose R. Mas is the Chief Executive Officer of MasTec, Inc., one of the largest and most diversified infrastructure services providers in the United States. Under his leadership, MasTec employs approximately 35,000 individuals across more than 700 locations nationwide and is projected to generate approximately $13.0 billion in revenue in 2023. Appointed as CEO in 2007, Mas has overseen a remarkable growth trajectory, with the company's revenues increasing by over 1,300% during his tenure. He has strategically diversified MasTec into burgeoning sectors such as wireless infrastructure, electric transmission and distribution lines, renewable energy, heavy civil, industrial, and pipeline infrastructure, while also expanding its traditional communications business. Mas’ deep-rooted involvement in the business spans over three decades, having started his career at his father's company, Church and Tower, which later became the foundation of MasTec.

Mas is also the managing partner of a private equity group which manages a diverse portfolio of operating companies and investments. He has served on over a dozen corporate boards assisting in strategic growth strategies and corporate governance. He founded Neff Corporation, a provider of rental construction and utility equipment, overseeing the company's growth from a single store in South Florida to over 80 branches nationwide, becoming one of the five largest firms of its type in the United States until its sale in 2005.

Mas also serves as Managing Owner of the recently awarded Miami Major League Soccer franchise, Inter Miami CF. The expansion team, the League’s 25th, is headlined by international superstar Lionel Messi, whom Mas persuaded to join the team.

Mas is actively engaged in numerous philanthropic and civic activities. He is a director of the Mas Family Foundation, supporting education and democratic principles, and serves on the U.S. Department of Commerce National Advisory Council on Minority Business Enterprises. His contributions to the community and business world have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur of the Year in 2011. Mas has appeared on national television programs, testified before the United States Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, lectured at university conferences, and has written articles appearing in the Washington Post and the Miami Herald, among others.

As Chairman of the Board of the Cuban American National Foundation (CANF), Mas is dedicated to the promotion of a free and democratic Cuba. He also serves on the Board of Overseers of the University of Miami School of Business. Mas is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he obtained both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration.

Recognized as one of the 100 most influential Hispanics in the United States by Latino Leaders Magazine, Mas' influence extends beyond business into significant contributions toward freedom and free speech, as evidenced by awards such as the Simon Wiesenthal Center National Community Service Award and the Bravura Award. His extensive experience and dedication continue to drive MasTec's success and his impact on the broader community.
