Jorge Ortega is the Director of the Cybersecurity Center of the Americas at Miami Dade College, where he is leading the initiative of creating IT security professionals via hyper-realistic training programs. Throughout his more than 18-year career, Jorge has worked within a diverse group of organizations, ranging from start-up ventures to multinational corporations. Previously, Jorge was CFO for Buguroo, a cybersecurity start-up based in Madrid focused on online fraud prevention. In addition to overseeing all finance functions, he also led the global expansion of the company into Silicon Valley and Miami.

Prior to Buguroo, Jorge held several positions at McAfee including, most recently, Director of Finance and Sales Operations for Latin America. During his time at McAfee, Jorge and his team provided financial and operational support to the LTAM team which spanned all of Latin America with offices in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and Chile. Prior to McAfee, Jorge held various financial and strategic roles at the Carnival Corporation and Royal Caribbean Cruises.

Jorge holds a B.S. in Finance from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.
