José Díaz-Balart is a Cuban-American journalist and television anchorman. He is the anchor of a show called "José Díaz-Balart Reports" on MSNBC, and anchors NBC Nightly News on Saturday. He also frequently substitutes for the weekday and Sunday broadcasts. Though he stepped down as anchor of the weeknight editions of Noticias Telemundo in 2021, he continues to host monthly specials, and anchor breaking news and special events coverage for Telemundo.

Díaz-Balart made history by becoming the first Cuban-American to host a network news program when he became an anchor for the CBS News program "This Morning". He co-hosted Telemundo Network's first morning news and entertainment show, "Esta Mañana," as well as its public affairs show "Cada Día." Díaz-Balart made history again when hosting on MSNBC Live in 2011, making him the first U.S. journalist to broadcast both English and Spanish newscasts on two networks simultaneously.

Over the course of his career, Díaz-Balart has received two Emmy awards, an Associated Press Award, and four Hispanic Excellence in Journalism Awards. He also received a Du Pont and Peabody Award, as well as the Orchid Award for Best News Anchor in the United States. Media 100 has named him best anchor three times, and Hispanic Business Magazine named him one of the "100 most influential people in the U.S."
