Jose Fernandez da Ponte is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Blockchain, Crypto, and Digital Currencies at PayPal, where he drives the company's efforts to increase access to digital currencies and expand their utility for millions of consumers globally.

Prior to this position, Fernandez da Ponte led PayPal’s Global Business Development team, started the company’s early efforts in crypto and participated in PayPal’s geographic expansion. He has been involved in crypto since 2015, and held various leadership positions at BBVA, a multinational banking group headquartered in Spain, and at McKinsey & Company, where he specialized in financial services and payments.

Fernandez da Ponte is a member of the Global Future Council on Cryptocurrencies at the World Economic Forum and part of the Advisory Board at Blockchain Capital.
